GBCA Session 2 Standouts
Bobby Crawford 6’7 F Gibbs
Easily one of my favorite prospects on the weekend to come through, BC was very worthy of a look. A lot of coaches wanted to see a tad more of his skill set (putting ball on the floor, creating his own shoot, and more shooting), but in my eyes he showed more than enough to show he has a solid base to where all of that will develop at the next level. He dunked everything around the rim on second chance opportunities, finished effectively around the rim, and was a strong rebounder. One thing I really liked the most about him was the intangibles, he was a very very effective screener which seemed minute but it helped create a lot of scoring opportunities when sets were ran. He ran the floor well for his size, and any time he attacked the basket or had a transition opportunity he scored a layup or jammed it home. Very reminiscent of when I saw Julian Phillips in high school a few summers ago.
Simon Walker 6’5 G Huntsville 2025
Walker is an effective shooter. He set the tone for the weekend picking up a big win over Wheeler. Had a stretch where he connected on three 3’s in a row. Always moving on the court, heady guard who stays a play ahead, very vocal and animated on the court. Big stock rising performance as he led his group to a 5-0 record on the weekend.
Colben Landrew 6’5 G/F Wheeler 2026
Colben stood out both live period weekends. Memorable plays were his game tying layup, and a big chase down block to save a win. As he got comfortable his true arsenal starts to show. Landrew has a football background so he is always fighting for layups and second chance opportunities. He is strong on the drive and getting to the basket and has a solid base on his jumper.
Daniel Ogunyemi 6’8 F Milton (Yale Commit) 2025
Heavy eyes were on DO coming into this weekend as Milton’s x-factor and he responded. He has a good back to the basket skill set and while a slender 6’8 he uses his frame very well. Aggressive on the glass, he created a lot of second chance opportunities, and connected on multiple tip ins. All of his performances were consistent throughout the weekend and he responded to a lot of different styles of play and length thrown at him. Big time recruit for Yale.
Nathan Earl 6’2 G Milton 2026
Nathan was one of the bright spots for Milton and a reliable scoring option. While the hoop scene is very familiar with Josh Dixon, we are always looking to see who will help alleviate the workload and Nathan seems to be up for the task. Good basketball iq, size at the guard spot, can get to the rim, solid midrange/floater game, and passer. As he continues to put in work, he can add his name to the list of Milton guards in the past years with a bright future.
Ty Shine 5’11 G Augusta Christian 2027
Ty was one of the younger prospects but held his own for AC especially at the lead guard spot. Pushed the pace well, kept the ball moving, could handle the ball well with limited turnovers, and provided buckets when needed. Continued reps would be key, but the entire AC group was some dogs so his development could be faster than most.
Rashund Washington 6’6 G Augusta Christian 2025
Big guard. Hit the game tying layup and although he hit the potential game winning layup a charge was called. Two crucial possessions where he ultimately got to the rim at will which was his best feature. While talking amongst my circle someone made a good point about the game being too easy for some players that they make it harder on themselves and that was Rashund at times. Less was more with him and with his size he didn’t have to dribble or use as many moves to make plays. Gritty defender and pushes the break well. Picked up an offer from UIC due to his performance over the weekend.
CJ Ingram 6’6 G/F Oak Ridge 2025
CJ was on full display this weekend and continued to turn heads. Super fundamental, can get to his spots with minimal dribbles, good ready now frame which Oak Ridge coaching excels at, and brings an intensity that’s tough to keep up with for a full game. Not many defenders could stay in front of him or match his grit. It was business as usual for CJ and Oak Ridge as they dominated the competition by double digits all weekend. His performance helped him pick up offers from UGA and Rice.
Zay Mosley 6’7 F Oak Ridge 2025
Mosley provided a good spark for this group. Another player with a college ready thick frame, defenders were bouncing off of Zay as he worked in the post and off the dribble. Can get off his feet quickly throwing down multiple drop step dunks and showed he can handle bigger defenders with ease. This team had nobody over 6’9 on their program yet Zay is one of the focal players manning the post. Picked up offers from UIC and Texas State along the way.
O’neal Delancy 6’2 G Gibbs 2027
Oneal might have been a name to star for the future. Aggressive guard who has a good use of the pro hop and getting two feet into the paint from the guard spot. Physical and has a sound jumper. He has a very confident game and takes pride in leading the group when needed and does it while being a rising sophomore. Gibbs had a lot of pieces and a solid group overall with OD being the youngest yet highly skilled amongst them.
Mathis Roberts 6’2 G Gibbs 2025
Another physical guard for Gibbs. Was a go to option whenever the team needed a bucket and was physical at the position. Moves well without the ball to get in scoring positions, can finish well with both hands around the rim, and has some good athleticism. Definitely one to monitor.
Latrell Allmond 6’8 F John Marshall 2026
Latrell has that frame you are looking for at the next level. Very stocky, can get up and down the court well, athletic, loves to play above the rim and can put the ball on the floor all while being 6’8 and thick. John Marshall is one of those elite level DMV schools where they play quick, run lanes, and the ball is continuously moving and LA exhibited all of that. Constantly fighting on the glass and providing quick easy baskets for JM as they kept the momentum rolling
Troy Henderson 6’1” G John Marshall 2025
Scrappy guard and one of the better defenders over the weekend. He picked up full court with ease, kept a hand in the passing lanes and stayed in front of his man for most of the contest. As mentioned with LA, this group is high level and players are given roles quickly to keep the unit moving smooth. Also showed the shooting arsenal off connecting on five 3s in the win over Gibbs
Aaron Britt Jr. 6’1 G The Villages 2027
Britt exhibited a good scoring bag and showed he should be a name to monitor for the future. Crafty, left handed guard showed the ability to score on three levels, blow by defenders and had an effective float game once he got in the paint. He had a big poster jam over the weekend showing his athletic versatility and picked up some solid wins over. There are a few pieces that TV can mold and Britt can go with so the more he studies the game and listens to his coaches he can try and add his name to The Villages legacy.
