All-Star Weekend Girls Prime Performers 2028
The 9th graders set the tone for the girls. Their attention to detail and play on both sides of the ball served as a representation of what NGS All-Star Weekend is all about. The best of the best competing at a high level.

Jaucelyn Smith | North Region
Smith has a smooth game. She plays hard and attacked the seams just as well as anybody in attendance at All-Star Weekend. Smith has the cachet and will to be a star. She scores so effortlessly and just plays the game the right way.

Deuce White | East Region
White’s slashing completely opened the game up for the East Region squad. It was tough to stay in front of her in one on one situations and she was savvy enough to find open teammates as defenders helped onto her. White’s quickness and aggression will always make her a tough player to contain.

Maggie White | West Region
White is a top tier two way player. She’s a playmaker and a play disrupter. White plays fast, yet under control. She lived in the paint and got consistent touches. White is a relentless worker on the floor and that’ll take her far.

Candela Cal Benquet | East Region
Cal Benquet was easily the best screen setter and roller at All-Star Weekend. She had an amazing connection with her guards, which amplified their game and hers. Cal Benquet caused mismatch problems when teams decided to switch during pick and roll play. She does a lot of the little things that will keep her on the floor.

Destini Chunn | Northeast Region
Chunn has a lightning quick first step and crossover. It’s advised to defend her at a distance and live with the jumper. Chunn is getting to the basket at will. She’s also a pest on ball defender. Chunn is extremely talented.

Naimah Al-Arif | East Region
Al-Arif was a mismatch problem in every game she competed in at All-Star Weekend. Her scoring ability was on an elite level. Al-Arif scored on minimal dribbles and did so at all three levels. Her basketball IQ was another reason she was a top player in attendance.
