Central Gwinnett picked up a big 62-57 win over Dacula behind the leadership and production of its senior core. From the opening tip, Central Gwinnett played with purpose and confidence, leaning on experience to close out a game that had a playoff type feel throughout.

Senior forward Davion Thompson, 6’8″, set the tone early and never let up. He finished with a game high 22 points, making his presence felt in the paint on both ends. Thompson established position early, finished through contact, and controlled the interior whenever Central Gwinnett needed a bucket.

Senior combo guard Dwayne Lawton, 6’3″, added 17 points and played a steady all around game. He created off the live dribble, knocked down shots, and made sure his teammates stayed involved. Brayden Holiday, a 6’0″ senior guard, chipped in 16 points and helped hold down the perimeter, making plays from wing to wing and providing balance alongside Lawton in the backcourt.

Dacula made things interesting behind the play of sophomore guard Case Presley, 6’3″, who delivered a strong performance. Presley scored 19 points, knocking down 3 threes, with 16 of his points coming in the second half as he helped spark the comeback effort. His confidence and shot making kept pressure on Central Gwinnett until the final horn.
