ELITE 60 SHOWCASE c/o 2029 DAY 2 STANDOUTS
The ELITE 60 Showcase included some of the best players in the class of 2029. Today we look at few of the players from the exciting action of day 2

Clahar left the camp as one of the best guards in attendance. He uses his crafty ball handling coupled with his acceptable quickness to create space for himself. Once he has gotten to his spot, he can rise up for an easy jump shot over any defender. He has attacking skills as well. His effort on defense is there as well. Most importantly, Clahar is coachable and attentive according to the coaches at the showcase. Kingston is a good guard and will be an interesting player to watch this coming high school season

The first thing I noticed about Hudson is his ability to take control of the room. In drills on day one, he unapologetically took extra reps. He competed in every drill. As he won, he let everyone know about it. When the game starts, nothing changes. Hudson is intense and going straight at anyone who dares to guard him. He is best going to the rim where he tends to finish with reverse layups often. When defenders commit too hard to the drive, he unleashes a lethal step back into a smooth jump shot. Cadien Hudson is flat out good and as time progresses so will his game.

Cole is a tweener of the best kind. He can guard 3 through 5, and can play a bit of each too. He stands 6’7” so dunking the ball comes easy to him. Yet, he does it with ferociousness and intent. For defenders who are too slow, Cole possesses a jump shot that stretches to the three point line. His handle is good enough to push the ball in transition if need be. Cole is a walking mismatch that we should only see more of the coming months.

Taylor is a guard with not much height, but broad shoulders to make up for it. He seems like a player who just wants it more than the opponent in front of him. Taylor gets it done from everywhere. He throws alley-oops to teammates, drives to the rim without fear, and if you leave him open the ball is finding the bottom of the net. It’s apparent that Treu is a guy who spends a lot of time in the gym judging by the execution of all that he did on the court today. If he keeps working, Taylor will continue to impress.

At times, Terry seems to be a man amongst boys on the court. He is muscular, athletic, and tall for a wing. He is lethal in transition. Terry finds open space on the court and attacks it immediately. He dribbles through touch fouls unphased on his way to finishing
at the rim through contact. Many of his drives result in free throw attempts (a necessity for scorers). I like Terry’s game and as time goes, it will only grow and get better.

What I like most about Wilson’s game is the emotion he plays with. As the games begin, he is calm and relaxed – or at least seems to be. Once everyone has settled in, Wilson separates himself. Yelling in the face of defenders every time he scores on them. Commanding teammates where to be on defense. Anyone that watches can tell the game means something to him. His offense isn’t too fancy. In fact, it’s straight to the point. Wilson knows what to do on the court, plain and simple. That’s why he left the showcase as one of the best players in attendance.

SHIFTY! That’s one word to describe the point guard out of Atlanta. Lee has the ball on a string. He relies on quick twitch, change of pace, explosion. He may as well be a physics teacher –
forcing defenders to shift left and right before completely embarrassing them. Lee is not just a good handle. He is an excellent passer who also finishes well at the rim. He is many coaches’ dream point guard and I cannot wait to see how his game continues to develop.

Araujo is a walking bucket! And he does it in the prettiest way. The slender guard uses his incredible handle to embarrass defenders on a consistent basis. He skips through the lane as if it’s the open court. If you reach, expect to be left in the dust and on a highlight tape by games end. He has good finishing ability and a serviceable jump shot. Araujo was one of the most exciting players from this weekend.
