Marietta, GA – The Girls Elite 60 Showcase brought together some of the top young talent from across the Southeast for an invite-only event at Marietta HS in Marietta, GA.
’29 Tegan Ellis | 6’0” SG | Riverwood HS (GA)
Shot maker that showed great versatility as a secondary ball-handler and as a deep shooting threat. Has really good length and skill to go along with a good IQ for the game. Played with good pace as a taller guard and never seemed rushed with the ball in her hands. Did a good job making shots in rhythm and showed that she can also help create when needed. Brought great energy throughout and consistently found ways to stay involved in the action.
’29 Alana Dewitt | 5’11” SG | Marietta HS (GA)
Was clearly one of the most experienced and skilled players in attendance. Has the strength and skill to comfortably defend guards and post players and showed that versatility throughout the event. Rebounded the ball exceptionally well from the wing and consistently made plays in transition once she secured it. Has a soft touch on her jumper and plays strong on both ends of the floor. Did a really good job using her frame and experience to make an impact in several different areas.
’30 Payton Day | 5’6” PG | Discovery HS (GA)
Exceptionally gifted lead guard with a tight handle and really good control of the basketball. Beats most defenders off the dribble with great change of pace and does a great job keeping defenders off balance. Has a high arc jumper that is difficult to defend against and looked comfortable taking it when defenders gave her space. Picked defenses apart out of pick and roll actions and consistently made the right read once she got the defense moving.
’30 Tiffany Moore | 6’6” PF | South Garner HS (NC)
Was easily the most dominant presence in attendance. Her combination of length skill and quickness at her size was simply too much to compensate for on both ends of the floor. Swatted away countless shots both in and out of position and controlled the glass throughout the event. Was virtually a guaranteed finisher once she caught the ball in the paint and showed great hands around the basket. Her presence changed the game on both ends and she will garner recruitment at the highest levels.
’30 Adielle Uduaghan | 6’0” SG | Princess Anne HS (VA)
Versatile threat that played both inside and outside and looked comfortable in either area. Showed a feathery touch on her shot and was also comfortable creating off the dribble. Uses her frame really well to shield defenders off of her and keep control of the ball when attacking. Gets to the cup at a high rate and does a good job using her size to finish plays once she gets there. Really versatile scoring option that can hurt defenses in multiple spots on the floor.
’30 Zara Mopa | 6’0” SG | Campbell HS (GA)
High level guard prospect that you can envision playing multiple positions long term. Was quick and decisive with her plan of attack and rarely wasted movement with the ball in her hands. At her best when she was aggressive attacking the paint and putting pressure on the defense. Made shots from multiple spots and angles on the floor and showed that she can score in different ways. Really good size and skill at the guard spot with plenty of versatility.
’30 London Chaney | 5’9” SG | McAdory HS (AL)
Exciting big guard that produced at a high level on both ends of the floor. Showed good court vision and tremendous patience and never seemed rushed with the basketball. Did a really good job letting plays develop and finding the open man when the defense shifted. Very dangerous in transition and finished well on both sides of the rim. Has the size skill and patience to make plays as both a scorer and distributor.
’30 Nevaeh Anderson | 5’5” PG | Creekside HS (GA)
Very shifty floor general that can break down virtually any defender with her array of moves. Has the potential to be a high level go-to scorer at the point guard position as she continues expanding her game as a point guard. Scoring comes naturally to her and she showed that she can consistently get to spots where she is comfortable. Also a capable distributor that can keep others involved once the defense begins reacting to her ability to score.
’30 Alivia Costner | 5’5” PG | Hickory Ridge HS (NC)
Savvy point guard prospect that scored the ball at a high level while also keeping her teammates involved in the flow of the action. Has a strong mid-range game and takes excellent care of the basketball. Her change of pace was probably her strongest ability and she constantly shook defenders before getting to her spots on the floor. Did a great job staying under control and using pace instead of forcing the issue. Really good feel for when to score and when to keep the offense moving.
