All-Star Weekend Boys Prime Performers 2029 Part 1

The players highlighted in Part 1 were all a part of the Power 24 during All-Star Weekend and they sure didn’t disappoint. Read all about the present and future of the southeast.

David Whitaker | West Power 24
Whitaker has some of the most hype in the class of 2029. What he did at All-Star Weekend makes it justifiable. He took his matchups serious, attacking defenders and guarding the best of the best. Whitaker’s athleticism is always a highlight of his play, but his jumper is improving, along with his decision making and overall understanding of the game. Safe to say with the work Whitaker has been putting in that he’ll be staying at the top of the elites in 2029.

Austin Leonard | East Power 24
Arguably a top 3 player in 2029, Leonard has a pure skillset. He’s definitely the most offensively advanced perimeter player in 2029. Leonard can takeover a game in a heartbeat. He can make difficult shots and easy ones. Leonard uses his body to get to his spots and get the shots he desires. Checking him one on one is a recipe for a 30 ball.

Treu Taylor | East Power 24
Taylor consistently gets better and better. As a small guard he’s starting to figure out he has to do a lot more than score. Taylor’s playmaking and on ball defense has drastically changed for the better. With his passion the worst thing for the opposition is Taylor being a true lead guard, using his teammates, then getting his. Keep a close eye on the progression of Taylor, he’s coming.

Cadien Hudson Jr | West Power 24
Hudson Jr is a wiry wing that’s ultra active all over the floor. He is relentlessly active on the court. His physique allows for swift movements, with a high level of energy throughout games. His ability to cover extensive ground facilitates both offensive and defensive plays. Hudson Jr has been developing his game and he’s taken a leap in which is expected to continue.

King Araujo | West Power 24
Talk about shooting the lights out, with range! Araujo is a sharpshooter that can heat up at any moment and make an opponent pay for leaving their hand down. The 2029 prospect has added the ability to finish in traffic making his hesitancy to drive a thing of the past. Araujo’s game evolves year to year and that will get him to the heights he wants to reach.

Terry Coleman | West Power 24
Coleman gets to the paint whenever he desires. Whether he sees a man defense or zone, the shifty guard finds a way to open the game for his team. He’s always strategically aware. That definitely goes hand and hand with his skillset. His shifty movements allow him to exploit defensive gaps, thereby facilitating scoring opportunities not only for himself but also for his teammates.

Duke Howell | North Power 24
Howell may have had the most range at All-Star Weekend. His ability to slash through defenses is complemented by a remarkable shooting precision, allowing him to score effectively from various distances on the court. Howell has the game that will translate well to varsity basketball.
