Bilal’s 6th Grade Prime Performers: Kings Of The South
A balanced 6th grade division of standout guards, wings and bigs.

Gavin McMillan | 2031 | DHBC
6th Grade MVP
McMillan had his presence felt over the weekend with the energy he not only brought on the glass but on the defensive end as well. McMillan’s offense game without the ball consisted of him running the floor, catching over the top passes for easy finishes and continuously showing great hands when catching nifty passes. McMillan also had no problem breaking guys down with limited dribbles and finishing through contact. Defensively, his long arms mixed with his hustle was disturbing for his competition. This kid’s motor is only going to expand and that’ll always keep him on the floor.

LeShawn Lyle | 2031 | T3 Mamba
When looking for a guard to run your pick and roll action, LeShawn Lyle is a name to mention out of his class. The patience of play when setting up his man to use the screen along with being able to see the second line of defense shows his level of understanding for the game. Lyle was able to exploit defenses at will with his passing ability and court vision. Lyle also showed a knack for scoring the ball when need be. His hesitation game and usage of the eyes made defenders constantly bite. He finished well in the mid-range area as well as in traffic.

Timothy Battle | 2031 | Revenge Elite
The 6’5” 6th grader turned a ton of heads at the King’s Of The South. Slamming the ball home, owning the glass and dominating the interior overall. Battle is a force to be reckoned with. He plays with the aggression that you look for in a big. Bright future ahead for him.

Noah Jones | 2031 | Celtics Beyond
This two way guard was a good representation of what it’s like to be a hard nosed defensive guard. Constantly pressuring the ball, taking pride in his matchups, fighting hard over screens, forcing offensive players to their weak hand and recognizing when it was okay to randomly trap the ball. On the offensive end, Jones was able to willingly get to the basket for finishes at the rim or getting into his floater game. His ability to attack close outs and reacting to the defenses was huge for his squad.

Benjamin Hatchett | 2031 | Celtics Beyond
One thing for sure and two things for certain, Benjamin Hackett is by far one of the best shooters in his class. The shooting guard is not only always shot ready but he’s also always proficient from long range. The pure consistency on his shooting stroke seems to always amaze me. There’s no second guessing when Hatchett is open to make that extra pass. While knowing he’s one of the best shooters, Hatchett also showed his ability to play off the ball, catching the ball in short strides and finishing around the rim once defenders began to play him in different ways. He seems to keep getting better by no surprise.

Azir Hatchett | 2031 | Celtics Beyond
Azir Hatchett is another prospect that seems to keep getting better. Can’t mention his brother’s ability to move without the ball without mentioning Azir’s ability to make the passes not only to his brother but to others as well. The big fella can dish it out when guys are properly making basketball moves. Hatchett also showed his ability to throw in the mid to high post area. Knocking down jump shots and even attacking his opponents while utilizing various counters to finish. Defensively, Azir’s second line of defense in his team’s press came with plenty of success. He was like a thief in the night with the way he was picking off passes and taking them the other way for easy buckets. The growth of this kid has also been special and will continue to be.

LJ Hall | 2031 | Game Elite
Hall is a sniper from beyond the arc. His proficiency from long range has significantly expanded, showcasing his capacity to score from various distances on the court. In addition to his shooting prowess, Hall has made a huge leap in his playmaking skills. Furthermore, his defensive capabilities have undergone substantial improvement, allowing him to effectively guard opponents and contribute to his team’s overall defensive strategy. Hall is one to continue to track.
Shane Gordon | 2031 | AE5
The emotions and competitiveness that Gordon plays with is something that’s always either set him apart or put him with the best of the best. The guard plays with a smooth feel for the game. Scoring well off the ball but really being able to dominate on the ball. Gordon has shown his court vision constantly along with his true shot making ability. His lethal side step three ball was a beauty to watch fall through the net a few times. Whether he’s hot or not from three, Gordon doesn’t heavily rely on that. He can also score well in the mid-range area and also has a pure floater game as well.
