The 4th Annual Next Gen Academy hosted some of SouthEast’s on the rise young talent. Here are a few who stood out.
2030 – Malik Paul – G
6’0″ Malik Paul wow’d spectators all weekend with his tenacity and athleticism. Paul opened the weekend up with catching an alley-oop on the opening drive of his teams first matchup then proceeded to dunk on someone in his next game on the court over. Being a natural athlete is something that stands out immediately.
2029 – Kingston Allen – SG
6’3″ guard Kingston Allen scored on all three levels last weekend and used his long arms to make plays on the defensive end all weekend long. He made plays above the rim as well and kept his squad in the mix the entirety of the camp.
2031 – Shane Gordon Jr – G
Gordon Jr always stands above the rest with his comfortability, shooting ability, and overall feel for the game. He shoots the lights out but knows how to get to his spots at will. There is no wasted movement and if he is not setting a player up for himself he is looking to make the pass that will lead to the basket
2032 – Dawson Nasrallah – G
Nasrallah is a pure hooper that made a statement all weekend with his play. He made a lot of advanced plays and put on an exhibition with his ability to get past defenders and finish over larger defenders.
2031 – Ethan Slaughter- SG
Slaughter shot the ball almost better than anyone during the entire camp. Contested shots were made and if you left him open you can count on the shot being made. He played well in the 1v1 situationals and showed his ability to get to the basket on his own.
2032 – Cortez Robinson – G
Robinson had the swagger all weekend and had his game going. Not only did he shoot well but he thrived in fast break situations where he either finished or made the correct passes to get his teammates the basket. There were different moments where he pulled a move that only someone two times his age would pull and he managed to make it look like easy work
