Rock City Classic High School Prime Performers

The most talented high school division of the season for NGS Hoops. A good amount of high level players went head to head.

Brandon Solomon | Strictly Ballas Gold | 2025
Whichever school gets Brandon Solomon is getting a steal! There’s no way this athletic, slashing, rangy wing is still unsigned. He made it a priority to finish with authority during every game he played at the Rock City Classic. Solomon is very efficient from the field and picks his spots wisely.

Cohen Hyatt | Strictly Ballas Gold | 2026
Hyatt has that swag to his game as to when he gets the ball you sense a play is about to brew out of nowhere. He has great vision and shoots it at a high clip. Hyatt keeps this Strictly Ballas club running smoothly. He’s a guard to track this spring and summer.

Josiah Currie | Strictly Ballas Gold | 2026
Varsity MVP

Varsity MVP had himself a weekend. Currie is a two-way player with a mean jumper off the dribble. He elevates high off the ground when shooting making it nearly impossible to block his jumper. Currie is patient and gets to the spots on the floor where he is most effective.

Trevor Manhertz | Garner Road | 2026
The lefty wing has a very fundamentally sound game. An elite one dribble pull-up that will leave defenders on their heels at the level and beyond. Manhertz a sharpshooter as well that can heat up and change the game in a heartbeat.

KD Collins | 2027 | Team Trezz | 10th grade Girls MVP
Collins checks off a ton of boxes when you’re looking for a lead guard that can takeover and control. Playmaking, shooting, defending, paint touches; knowing when to score and get teammates involved, you name it, Collins can execute. Expect her recruiting profile to continue to surge.

Javon Motta | 2027 | Mentality Elite | 10th Grade MVP
Mentality Elite was the talk of the Rock City Classic. One of the best independent teams in the country and Motta is a huge reason why. He snagged the 10th grade division MVP and he basically had an MVP performance in every game. He controls the pace of play at an elite level. Motta has a quick trigger and quick twitches to get by guys on the perimeter. Buy stock now.

RJ Moore | Garner Road | 2027
The game comes so easy to Moore. His skill, IQ and feel for the game screams high major. He’s the type of guard that can impact the game in so many ways from his scoring, facilitating, defending and rebounding at a high clip from the guard spot. As of right now Moore is underrated. After this summer they’ll see what we see.

Jordan Page | Garner Road | 2027
Page is a purest. He can take over a game with or without the ball. He seems to always be in sync. Whether it’s slashing to the basket, cutting, popping for space or simply ducking in. Moore’s top 5 ranking nationally seems justified. His athleticism allows him to contribute on the perimeter and around the rim at a high level. Not to mention defend multiple positions fluidly.

Brennen Jefferson | Garner Road | 2027
Brennen Jefferson is underrated. He can impact the game with or without the ball. It’s a noticeable trend amongst Garner Road players, to be able to play without the ball. Jefferson never stops moving which put him in position to score time after time. He has good size and feel.

Keyshawn Herring | 7th Nation | 2027
Herring had a, “I’m here” moment, dropping 41 points against Garner Road. He’s a player that can get in a zone and the hoop looks huge every time he shoots. Herring is a talented 3 level scorer with top notch leaping ability. Herring glides in the air to finish and plays with a flare that’s entertaining. He doesn’t set out to do it though, it just comes natural.

Kasyn Chase | Team Trezz Chase | 2027
Chase is one of the most underrated guards in North Carolina. The confidence he possesses game in and game out is incredible. He’s composed like a lead guard should be. Chase takes timely, good shots and he shoots it efficiently. He finishes strong at the basket and finds teammates off of live dribbles. Rising prospect.

Garang Garang | Team Loaded | 2028
Garang is a two-way, lengthy wing with a ton of upside. As a 9th grade he can defend 3-4 positions along with be placed on multiple spots of the floor on offense and have an impact. Garang’s athleticism should go unnoticed because he is what college basketball looks like.

Justin Golphin | Team Loaded | 2028
Golphin can go. He’s a microwave scorer that can light you up. His long arms always him to disrupt opposing players and create turnovers. Golphin utilized the pick and roll well, got to his spots and made things happen when the ball was in his hands.

Brelyn Moses | Team Loaded | 2028
9th grade MVP

Moses is one of the most athletic players in the country regardless of class. His athleticism goes hand and hand with his acrobatics. He has a quick first step that always him to blow by defends and make thunderous plays at the rim. Moses is always a lob threat. As he continues to develop his jump shot and package everything together he’s going to be a highly sought after prospect.
