Showed his IQ with patient reads and displayed a nice skillset that created offensive opportunities. Plays a game that can fit in almost any offense and plays just as hard on the defensive end. A young prospect from CSAL Middle (Baton Rouge).
Boston Sheppard is an aggressive scorer that can rotate between both guard positions with his versatility around the perimeter. He has great floor vision to find teammates and will pass up a good shot for a better one in the offense. The 2029 standout from Impact Christian Academy (FL) is crafty off isolation can shoot off the dribble and is a great finisher which makes him hard to defend. A high motor guy that plays to compete.
Michael Smith is a dominant forward that is hard to defend. He moves well without the ball and knows how to read defenders to be a easy target and find space to score. The 2031 standout plays an ambidextrous game as he able to score from both sides of the floor with ease. Showed the ability to score past multiple defenders with patient reads and nice forward skillset. A player to watch out of Peachtree City.
Arguably one of the top performers over the weekend across any class. High level impact player that was consistent from start to finish. Wants the ball in his hands every possession and is relentless on the attack. Brings a competitive nature that can’t be taught and it’s contagious to his teammates. Comfortable scoring from anywhere on the floor inside or out, can play above the rim and is an asset on the defensive end and glass. High ceiling athlete out of Red Oak Middle (NC).
Cameron Hurst is another high motor high energy guy. He’s an asset on both sides of the floor with his size and energy he brings to the game. Relentless slasher that finishes well at the rim, around contact and through multiple defenders. He’s a great rebounder and played well defensively. All around impact player that competes at a high level and wants to win out of Buford (GA).
Another top performer over the weekend was Dorian Douglas. He’s is your ideal true PG that impacts the game in many ways. Douglas does a good job at setting up the offense and letting the game come to him. He’s crafty in the backcourt and is hard to stay in front of. Displayed elite finishing ability including a go ahead game winning euro layup between 2 defenders while falling down to pull off a late 4th QT come back win against a talented Team Trezz team. He’s definitely a player to continue to watch out of Dacula (GA).
Nice showing from ATL Swish standout James Nelson. He was aggressive start to finish as a leading scorer. Displayed the ability to be a consistent shooter mid range or behind the arch. Nelson was crafty with his dribble and is hard to defend with his quickness to blow by, paired with his quick pull up off the dribble from the behind the arch. He finished well at the rim around taller defenders and is a high level competitor out of Camp Creek Middle (GA).
Ezra Caswell had a nice showing for Bates Fundamentals. Caswell is a true PG that you can trust with the ball in his hands in any situation. Plays a mature game and plays with a high IQ that is hard to teach. A problem to contain off the dribble with his speed, handle and playmaking ability. Can score at a high volume and plays a balanced game scoring inside and out the perimeter with his shot selection. Another 2029 PG to watch out of Evangelical Christian School (TN)
