Bilal’s 8th Grade Prime Performers: Showcase of Champions
Loaded 8th grade division at the Showcase of Champions. Expect to see some of these young hoopers make an early impact on varsity next year.

Symeon Watson | Atlanta Swish | 2029
Watson continues to impress. He’s had one of the best 8th grade years of anyone. He has solidified himself as an all-around player heading into high school. From here, as long as he continues to gain strength and experience he’ll be a high major D1 prospect.

Jacorey Lee Jr | Atlanta Swish | 2029
Lee Jr is only the quickest and fastest players with the ball in 2029. His basketball IQ makes the game look easy when he’s playing. Lee Jr has a selfless demeanor, but can take over a game in a heartbeat. He will be an intriguing high school player from day 1.

Phillip Claybrooks | Atlanta Swish | 2029
Claybrooks played better and better as the Showcase of Champions went on. He strained his ankle Saturday, but that didn’t keep him out of Championship Sunday action. Claybrooks scored 15 points in the second half alone to earn MVP honors of the 2029 chip. Whether it was slashing, shooting or impacting the game defensively, Claybrooks made his presence felt.

James Nelson | Atlanta Swish | 2029
Nelson has always been the spark plug for Atlanta Swish’s 2029 squad. He can score in bunches and packs elite quick twitches in his bag. Nelson has improved with his pick and roll play, in addition to his jumper getting more and more consistent.

Chaz Roux | Norcross Heat | 2029
Roux is a scoring machine. He is a developing three level scorer that looks to apply pressure on defenses with a relentless downhill attack. Roux’s skillset is developing nicely.

Khalil Myrieckes | Norcross Heat | 2029
Myrieckes is an underrated player in 2029. As a lead guard he gets what it takes to be effective and make winning plays for his team. Myrieckes distributes the ball well and looks to keep the offense flowing. Valuable trait heading into high school.

Jahli Greenfield | Norcross Heat | 2029
The man in the middle for this Norcross Heat squad. Greenfield has a soft touch around the rim and plays physical on the offensive end. Greenfield is solid at making room on the interior and showing his hands when he has his man sealed. He’s a big to track in high school.

Jameson Allen | EYA | 2029
Allen has sneaky athleticism. He actually leaps when he takes off. He caught a two hand slam and that turned heads. He can defend at a high level and gallops in transition. Allen can be a freakish athlete, which will take him as far as he wants.

Syncere Bankston | EYA | 2029
After a record breaking season for school ball, Bankston has been carrying over his domination to the spring and summer. He can get his shot off whenever he wants. If Bankston gets hot, he can ring off a ton of buckets in a short period of time. He’s explosive on offense.

Noah Fuqua | DYABL | 2029
Fuqua could have been the best shooter in the building at the Showcase of Champions. Definitely top 3! Fuqua took excellent shots and didn’t force any. He moves well without the basketball and finds open seams to be impactful.

Dallas Rogers | DYABL | 2029
Rogers is a very technically sound hooper. Nice shooting form, makes the extra pass, drives and kicks, along with correct defensive rotations. He’s lanky with a good jumper. If he buys into the 3-D player mindset, it can take him far.

Kayveon Blijden | Unknown Elite | 2029
One of the Florida All-Stars we had earlier this season. Blijden showed us in a team and tournament atmosphere that he can do it all. He’s a shifty guard that makes the offense flow when he’s leading the charge. A top guard in the southeast that’s continually getting better.

Niko Bosire | Unknown Elite | 2029
Bosire has one of the best builds of any guards in 2029. He takes quality shots in the flow of the game. Bosire plays with physicality and finesse. He’s extremely tough to contain in transition and can score on all three levels. The most satisfying part of Bosire’s game is his utilization of the midrange jumper. That’ll keep his game well balanced.

Kingsley Anderson | KOU | 2029
Anderson is a reliable decision-maker that usually turned into scoring opportunities. He consistently makes the correct basketball read and confidently knocks down shots, whether he’s open or has minimal space. Anderson plays to win.

Blake Bazille | KOU | 2029
Whatever Bazille is doing when the lights are off, he needs to continue to. He has taken a noticeable leap this summer. Everything about his game has gotten better. Especially his ability to create space and get his shot off. Bazille got bigger and stronger too, that always helps, but his skillset has improved.

Sanders Mitchell | KOU | 2029
Mitchell is a smooth guard that has the build to play on the perimeter or interior. He’s a crafty player that creates well off a live dribble and can see plays as they’re unfolding. Mitchell interchangeable all over the court. In this era of hoops that’s something that’ll keep him on the floor.
