Snellville, GA – Today, campers from all over the southeast region checked in to compete against a loaded field of prospects. With plenty of talent in the gym, a few players quickly made their presence felt with their athleticism, skill and production. Here are a few names that caught my attention during today’s action.
’28 Rob Beasley | 6’1” PG | Hibriten HS (Lenoir, NC)
Outstanding athlete with an impressive skillset. Frame is equipped to take contact and he finishes well above the rim. Extremely explosive and can shoot the ball at a high level with great elevation. Crafty ball-handler and fast in the open floor while also being a huge threat to throw down a thunderous dunk. Has a lot of ways to score the basketball. Defenders struggled to contain him and he rebounded the ball exceptionally well for a guard. Has the tools of a D1 prospect. Bigtime scoring prospect with bullying strength that can also get after it on the defensive side.
’29 Jaiden Williams | 6’6” SF | Frederick Douglass HS (Atlanta, GA)
Freakishly gifted athlete with a high motor and long arms. Gets after it on both ends and has contagious energy. Seemed to always be around the ball because of how hard he plays. His length shows up everywhere and he fills up the stat sheet with deflections, blocks and steals. Can impact the game in a huge way without needing plays called for him. Excellent long term potential as a two-way threat.
’29 Deuce Powell | 6’8” F | Wheeler HS (Marietta, GA)
Imposing physical presence that made his mark in the post. Excellent rebounder that carved out a ton of space and consistently put himself in position to control the glass. Showed off a nice jumper from deep range, but still was consistent with controlling the paint and playing to his strength inside. Has the physical tools to be a problem around the basket on both ends of the floor. Stock could rise exponentially over the coming season. Has all the tools you want to see from a young forward.
’29 Preston Elliott | 6’4” SG | Baker HS (Baker, FL)
Lefty with really good open court athleticism. Fast in the open floor and proved to be quite crafty off the bounce. Hard to contain when he’s attacking the basket and he gets really good elevation on his jumpshot from deep range and from the mid-post. Doesn’t take plays off and has good court vision. Can score it himself or find the open man once the defense commits to closing in on him. Dynamic scorer with the potential to be just as dynamic from a facilitator role.
’29 Kelstin Gaines | 6’4” SG | Woodland HS (Stockbridge, GA)
Athletic guard with good defensive versatility. Gets a lot of elevation on his pull-up jumper and has a soft touch. Can guard different types of players and his size helps him to comfortably switch between positions. Really liked how high he gets on his shot around the basket. Rose above the rim for several dunks from the block and finished through contact consistently. Passes the eye test from a physical standpoint and has the game to produce.
’29 Yehoshua Adeyemi | 5’10” PG | Osborne HS (Marietta, GA)
Very quick with a tight handle. Spins in and out of traps and has an excellent change of speed on the floor, even while under pressure. Lightning quick change of direction and really difficult to stay in front of. Was lights out from deep range. Shot it very well coming off of screens with and without the ball. Didn’t miss many shots around the basket when he got into the paint and he’s got good vision. One to monitor.
’29 Ke’Shawn Hall | 5’10” PG | Calvary Christian (Columbus, GA)
Very strong and heady point guard that makes shots from multiple spots on the floor. Gets into the paint at will and has alot of creativity off the bounce. Fast and really stout defensively, causing huge disruptions to the opponents offense. Has enough strength to play through contact and keep his trajectory towards where he’s attacking. Showed he can score it within the flow of the offense while still keeping everyone else involved. Clear stock riser so far from this weekend.
