Bruton’s Top Performers from the Elite 60 Showcase (Pt. 2)

By

Marietta, GA The 2031 Elite 60 Showcase brought together some of the top young prospects from across the Southeast for an invite-only event loaded with talent. Each year, there have been several young prospects that introduced themselves to the national stage via this showcase. Much of the same happened over the course of the weekend.

EJ Crockett | 6’2” CG (GA) strong athletic combo guard that thrives on absorbing contact. Does a great job using his strong frame when attacking the basket and is extremely difficult to knock off his path once he gets going downhill. Finishes well around the rim and routinely bounces defenders off of him instead of allowing the contact to affect his shot. Doesn’t shy away from physical play and has the frame to make defenders pay when they try to body him up. Really good finisher that plays with strength and athleticism around the basket.

Shane Gordon | 5’10” PG (GA) scoring point guard with good vision and deep range on his jumper. Showed the ability to make shots from well beyond the 3-pt line while still doing a solid job of seeing the floor and finding the open man. Ultra competitive guard that seemed to get better as the event progressed. Plays with an unmatched level of confidence that never wavers. Has good natural instincts that lead to impressive passes and reactions to defensive looks.

Christian Williams | 6’2” SG (GA) blossoming scoring guard that isn’t afraid to take the shot. Can get going in a hurry and rattle off big scoring numbers when defenders don’t stay attached to him. Has good range on his jumper and plays with a lot of confidence when he gets clean looks from the perimeter. His frame also looks equipped to put on additional muscle down the line. Really intriguing scoring guard that can make defenses pay quickly once he gets into rhythm. One to monitor closely as he continues to grow and develop.

Aiden Harris | 6’3” SG (GA) may have been the most disruptive defender in attendance. Dominated the glass and created havoc defensively with his long arms and constant activity. Seemed to always be around the basketball and did an excellent job using his length to affect plays. Was equally impressive offensively on the glass and as a slasher where his length continued to show up around the basket. Lefty that impacts the game in a number of different ways without needing the ball in his hands. Potential is all over this kid as a versatile wing.

Tanner Morgan | 5’8” PG (GA) point guard with really good speed in the open floor that was always ready to attack the basket. Played with a relentless attacking style from start to finish and consistently looked for opportunities to get downhill. His ability to keep coming at defenders kept them honest throughout the weekend. Very fast with the ball in transition and does a great job using that speed to put pressure on the defense. At his best when he has room to get moving and turn the corner toward the basket.

Levi Roberts-Guity | 6’5” CG (VA) big guard that had a major impact on every game whether he was scoring the basketball or distributing it. Has excellent size for his position and showed plenty of skill operating as a primary ball-handler. Really good court vision and consistently found the open man once the defense started shifting toward him. Also showed excellent open floor speed for a player his size. Can handle the ball create for others and make plays in transition. Really intriguing combination of size skill and vision at the combo guard spot.

King Abrams – 6’4” CG (GA) big athletic guard prospect with a ton of intangibles. Left-hand dominant guard that is very strong attacking the basket and finishes exceptionally well once he gets around the rim. Does a great job using his size and strength when getting downhill but also has enough craftiness to break down good defenders off the dribble. Can knock down the pull-up jumper when defenders give him space and showed more than one way to create offense. Really tough guard to contain once he gets moving toward the basket.

Kendon Hayes – 5’10” PG (GA) outstanding true guard prospect that can seamlessly move between the combo guard positions. From start to finish, he imposed his will on both ends of the floor. Has a strong frame and a versatile skillset that allows him to consistently get downhill, move from east to west and put pressure on the defense. On the defensive side of the ball he does a really good job moving his feet and bodying up opposing ball-handlers. Made life miserable for guards by picking them up the full length of the floor and making them work just to get into the offense. Really strong two-way guard that showed the ability to make an impact on both ends throughout the event.
