The next generation truly starts here!

Zahir Gutierrez | 5’11” | Mississippi | 2024

Gutierrez was the best shooter to grace the Prospect showcase floor. Off the dribble, catch and shoot, long range, corner three, open or contested. You name it Gutierrez can knock it down from deep. In addition to his stellar shooting, Gutierrez controlled the pace of the game with skillful ball handling, elite ball control and efficient pick and roll action. Gutierrez really came to the Prospect Showcase to show the immediate impact he can have on a program. With another year of high school loading, Gutierrez will have a lot of eyes on him this summer into the fall and winter.

Searching for a big that plays sound defense, can be a switch defender, rolls to the basket looking for the ball and has great hands? Look no further than Elahi Akida. He displayed solid footwork along with up and under post moves that kept his efficiency high. Akida cleaned the glass offensively which led to second chance opportunities for his team and defensively which led to one shot opportunities for opposing teams. His rebounding was major because the games they won were all by one possession. Akida’s game play has an imprint on winning.

Justin Payne | 5’9” | Georgia | 2024

North Oconee High School has one of the best game managers in the state of Georgia coming back next season. Payne controlled games at the Prospect Showcase with hitting players in stride and getting the ball to teammates where they’re comfortable. The ball doesn’t stick to Payne’s hands. He can score the ball with the best of them. His knowledge of the game is high, because you won’t see Payne make many mistakes or take bad shots. He’s very strong with the ball as well. His floater package is one of the finest I’ve seen.
