Georgia Highschool Hoops Feb. 5-9
Pebblebrook defends home court on senior night and picks up a win against Westlake 63-77. It was a highly contested game, and both teams came to compete. 24′ Forward Arthur Williams came out hot in the first half scoring 14 in the first half. Williams is hard to defend when he’s coming down hill into the paint attacking the rim, is great on the glass and plays with a motor on both ends. Williams finished with 28 in the win. 26′ G Zyree Brown, also had an impressive performance for the Falcons. The standout sophomore finished with 22 points including a 7 point third quarter that contributed to the Falcons gaining control of the game.
Decatur was another team that had to defend home court on senior night against a familiar region opponent. They defeated M.L King 60-46, and had control of the game from the start. 24′ G Luke Brooks was major part of the Bulldogs offense and was pretty efficient from the field on both inside and out the perimeter. He’s displayed a nice skillset on offense ,can be aggressive on the boards on both ends and has good size to defend at the next level. Decatur looks like a sure in to make it to the region final.
Lanier has a nice combo guard in Tahai Morgan. Morgan can be a streaky scorer that can catch fire from behind the arch. Morgan can play the one or the two with efficiency, and plays well within the Longhorn offense as the primary ball handler. Morgan finished with 20 points against Harbersham Central on senior night. 25′ Forward Amari Morgan and 24′ G Dre Cowan were also worth noting for the Longhorns. Both played a major part in the offense and showed a nice skillset that led to highlight plays. Both Cowan and Morgan finished in double figures, while competing on both ends and played well with Tahai in the offense as Lanier’s big 3.
