Mays Pulled Out a 67-64 Victory Over Westlake

EVENT: HARD IN THE PAINT hosted by The Sports for Champions

Mays pulled out a 67- 64 victory over Westlake. Slow paced contest with great overall team efforts from both clubs, but two players in particular stood out most. 2023 guard, Mykel Williams and 2024 wing, Jayshon Arrington did a little bit of everything to get their team over the top. Williams had it going from deep and shot the three ball at a high clip. In addition to his shooting, Williams put his teammates in position to succeed with crisp lead passes and directing them to certain spots on the floor. Arrington on the other hand owned the paint and ran the floor with purpose. Defensively, Arrington’s athleticism allowed him to switch pick and rolls and have the same defensive efficiency on guards that he had on forwards. Mays is a well coached and unselfish bunch.

#2 Mykel Williams 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists (4.0 GPA)
#12 Jayshon Arrington 20 points, 15 rebounds, 4 blocks
