Parkview Advances to the 2nd Round of the State Playoffs

Parkview fought off an early onslaught and hostile crowd in their 64-61 win on the road against Hillgrove. Parkview advances to the 2nd round in the state playoffs with this Victory. Junior guard Mike Matthews set the tone for his team offensively and Sophomore Jacob Wilkins anchored the defense and let Hillgrove know they’ll be in for a tough battle. Matthews got to his spots at will and scored on just about every paint touch he got. Wilkins has the athletic ability and length to alter shots at the rim and the perimeter. That proved to be a problem for Hillgrove. In addition, he ran the floor extremely well and got some east buckets in transition. This dynamic duo got the job done, but the got an enormous boost from junior guard Emanuel Befekadu;  He hit big 3’s throughout the game and took care of the ball in the heat of Hillgrove’s game long ball pressure. This is a team that won’t quit. Even though they’re young, they are looking to win now.
