Kings of the South: 2029 Class Proves the Future is in Good Hands
Cumming, GA – The Class of 2029 had one of the deepest and most competitive showings at Kings of the South. What stood out most was the maturity. Whether it was a lead guard controlling tempo, a slasher getting downhill, or a versatile forward making plays on both ends, 2029 gave evaluators plenty to be excited about. Below is a detailed breakdown of the players that caught my eye.
6’1” CG Armani Morris – Tre Mann Elite PUMA
Armani plays like a veteran. He stays calm under pressure and always is engaged. He’s long, athletic and smart with the ball, making him tough to rattle. He can guard multiple spots and gives you real value on both ends. Offensively, he scores it within the flow, rarely forcing anything. You can trust him to make the right read or knock down a timely shot. High floor, high IQ kid with a motor.
6’3” CG Bryson Manson – Waycross Supersonics
Bryson is a long, wing guard with natural scoring instincts. He’s got the frame and athleticism that immediately stand out, but it’s his ability to get downhill that makes him dangerous. He prefers attacking to his left, and when he gets there, he finishes through contact with confidence. He’s got good feel in transition and doesn’t waste motion. You can see the long-term potential once the consistency kicks in.
6’1” CG Athens Davenport – Young Buckets
Athens is a strong-bodied guard who plays through contact and gets to his spots with purpose. He uses his frame to shield defenders and finish through traffic, especially in the paint. The scoring instincts are there. He doesn’t hesitate when it’s time to put pressure on the basket. He’s got a steady handle and understands how to control the pace when the game speeds up. Not flashy, but effective—just finds ways to make plays. Built like a guard you don’t want to see late in a tight game.
6’3” PG Kam Rice – Upward Stars
Kam is a long, athletic lead guard who plays with real explosiveness. He thrives in transition and is one of those guards that can turn a routine rebound into a highlight reel in a few dribbles. His handle is smooth, and he’s capable of both running the offense and flipping into scoring mode when needed. He’s a legit threat to finish above the rim, proved by his big dunk this weekend. Still adding polish as a decision-maker, but the tools are undeniable. A dynamic backcourt piece with a big ceiling.
6’1” Guard Ajani Jones – Gulf Coast Blue Chips
Ajani has a quiet command to his game. He doesn’t force the issue, but somehow he’s always the one ending up with the bucket. Smooth pace, soft touch, and a calm demeanor that keeps defenders off balance. He doesn’t need to be flashy. He just finds gaps, makes smart reads, and puts points on the board. The jumper is clean, and he mixes it well with strong takes to the rim. You look up at the end of the game and realize he’s quietly put together one of the most efficient lines on the floor. Just really knows how to play.
6’4” SG Avery Jones – Tre Mann Elite PUMA
Avery brings real inside-outside balance to the wing position. He’s long and fluid, and he moves better than most wings his size. His shot is smooth, and when he gets to his spots, he’s hard to stop. He rebounds his position well and has a soft touch around the rim. Long term, he projects well as his body and athleticism catch up to his game.
6’8” PF Cannon Combs – Tre Mann Elite PUMA
Cannon is a true modern day big. He can stretch the floor, run in transition, and anchor the glass. He’s comfortable shooting it from 15+ feet but can also go to work inside. He’s light on his feet for his size and doesn’t shy away from contact. Rebounds hard and keeps the ball high. You don’t find many 6’8” players at this level that move like he does. Serious long-term potential here.
6’1” CG Chase Wilson – AE5 3SSB
Chase is a smart, skilled combo guard with a nice feel for the game. He sees the floor, makes quick reads, and defends with pride. He’s a confident shooter from deep and can create space off the bounce. What stands out is how composed he is. Never in a rush, but always attacking with purpose. A reliable two-way guy who you can build a backcourt with.
6’5” PF Karmelo Rugley – Gulf Coast Blue Chips
Karmelo has the kind of physical tools you look for in a young big. Long, mobile, and athletic. He runs the floor hard and doesn’t mind getting physical in the paint. What gives him added value is his ability to step out and hit the short jumper, especially in pick-and-pop situations. He’s still developing footwork and post moves, but the motor is there. He contests shots, rebounds in traffic, and plays with a presence on both ends. With continued growth, he’s got a solid foundation to build on.
6’3” SG Cruz Jackson – AE5 3SSB
Cruz is a long, rangy guard who covers ground quickly and plays well in transition. He finishes strong at the rim and has flashes of high level shot-making from the perimeter. Defensively, he uses his wingspan to disrupt passing lanes. Still filling out physically, but the tools are clearly there. A high-ceiling prospect who’s just starting to tap into his offensive game.
6’3” PG Isaiah Wright – Gulf Coast Blue Chips
Isaiah is a big lead guard who plays with force. He controls tempo, gets to his spots, and makes plays for others. When he decides to attack, he’s a problem going downhill. He competes defensively and isn’t afraid of big moments. Uses his size well to post smaller guards and rebound in traffic. Has all the makings of a go-to guy down the line.
6’3” SG Jacody Terry – Jet Academy EYBL
Jacody is a versatile wing who does a little bit of everything. He rebounds well for a guard, defends multiple positions, and plays with poise. Offensively, he doesn’t hunt shots but will step up when needed. He’s the kind of player who fills gaps and helps teams win. Quietly productive and dependable.
6’7” SF Jacori Thompson – Jet Academy EYBL
Jacori has the tools to be an elite prospect. At 6’7”, he’s fluid with the ball and comfortable shooting off the bounce. He pushes in transition and makes plays others his size typically can’t make. Still growing into his frame, but he’s active on the glass and doesn’t back down. With added consistency, he’ll be a mismatch nightmare. Sky-high potential.
6’2” SG Jaden Morgan – Garner Road 3SSB
Jaden is an athletic scorer who knows how to get buckets. He’s aggressive on the offensive glass and gets second-chance points regularly. The first step is quick, and he doesn’t mind contact. His handle is solid and lets him create separation. Defensively, he competes and uses his length to bother shots. A rugged, productive guard.
6’7” PF Jamorian Tuck – Team Loaded 3SSB
JT is a freak athlete who plays way above the rim and brings energy on both ends. He’s slender, but he’s everywhere crashing the glass, blocking shots, and finishing lobs. Even playing up, he made an impact just by being active. Has great instincts as a help defender and rotates well. He’s raw in some areas, but the explosiveness is real. Exciting long-term forward.
5’8” PG Jayden Harriott – Tre Mann Elite PUMA
Jayden is small but electric. He’s always on the move and constantly puts pressure on the defense. The shot is there, and his confidence is sky-high. His speed gives him a real edge, especially in transition. Despite his size, he competes defensively and isn’t afraid to mix it up. Energizer type who sparks runs with his pace and toughness.
6’8” F Joshua Sanders – Jet Academy EYBL
Josh is a long lefty forward with real defensive upside. He blocks shots, changes angles, and rebounds in traffic. Offensively, he’s a capable knockdown shooter when he’s within a rhythm and finishes well around the rim. He doesn’t force much and plays within himself. Has great timing on both ends. With more added strength and explosion, his game will take an astronomical leap.
5’10” PG Kellen Leverette – Upward Stars
Kellen is a strong, steady point guard. He controls pace and plays through contact. He scores when needed but thrives setting the table for others. The jumper is solid and he’s got a bit of a chip on his shoulder, which fuels his intensity. Coaches will love how tough and consistent he is.
5’10” PG Khyri Brown – Atlanta Xpress UAA
Khyri is a defender’s nightmare. He’s athletic, tough, and gets downhill at will. He’s a frequent visitor to the free throw line and puts constant pressure on defenses. On the other end, he locks in and guards with purpose. The jumper continues to improve, but his identity is built on toughness. Every team needs a guard like him. Won’t be shocked to see him as an immediate producer this summer when he’s playing team camp basketball for his future high school.
6’3” CG Preston Elliot – Tre Mann Elite PUMA
Preston is an athletic lefty who’s a threat from deep and has the confidence to take big shots. He’s hard to speed up and plays with smooth control. Gets to his spots, creates separation, and finishes through contact. Has the ability to score in bunches without forcing. Crafty, fluid, and effective in tight spaces.
5’9” PG Raylon May Jr – Team USC
Raylon is a lead guard who looks to score first but also makes the right reads in the flow. He’s quick with the ball and good at creating his own shot off the bounce. Not afraid to pull from three and can get hot quickly. Plays with a swagger and isn’t afraid of big moments. Still growing as a passer, but the scoring punch is real.
6’7” SG Symeon Watson – Atlanta Swish
Symeon is nearly a legit 6’7” with serious length, touch from all three levels, and feel in transition. He makes shots look easy and plays unselfishly. Defensively, he can contest everything. If his body keeps maturing and the motor stays consistent, he’s got a real chance to be a special prospect long-term. It’s just a matter of time as long as he stays on his current trajectory.
6’4” SF Taelin Burney – Garner Road 3SSB
Taelin is a long wing with budding athleticism. Probably had the biggest play of the weekend while finishing at the rim over a defender. He defends multiple positions and isn’t afraid to take on bigger matchups. Offensively, he has a decent floater game and can get downhill quickly from the mid-post area. Quietly effective and always around the action.
6’5” F Junub Duor – Atlanta Swish
Junub is an intriguing forward with a ton of long-term upside. He’s fluid for his size, covers ground quickly, and shows real flashes on both ends. Defensively, he’s already altering shots and rebounding out of his area. On offense, he’s got a soft touch and moves well without the ball. Dunks it easily with two hands and is always a highlight level threat when he has a clear lane.
5’7” PG Terry Coleman – Atlanta Swish
Terry is a smaller guard but incredibly tough to contain. His handle is tight, and he keeps pressure on defenders with his change of pace. He sets the table, keeps the ball moving, and knows how to get others involved. Doesn’t back down on defense either. He may be undersized, but he doesn’t play like it at all.
5’10” PG Vance Wilder – Atlanta Xpress UAA
Vance is a sniper from deep and doesn’t need much space to let it go. He’s a confident scorer who can get hot in a hurry. Moves well without the ball and creates separation on his own. Has that microwave scorer mentality. The kind of guard who can flip a game in just a few possessions.
5’10” PG Dorian Douglas – AE5 3SSB
Dorian is a super athletic point guard who brings intensity on both ends. He defends hard and uses his quickness to disrupt ball-handlers. Offensively, he’s pass-first but can shift into scoring mode when needed. Tough, aggressive, and plays the right way. Coaches will love his attitude and work ethic.
6’1” PG Zaire Colbert – Tre Mann Elite PUMA
Zaire is a cerebral lead guard who plays with pace and poise. He has deep range on his jumper and uses his body well on drives. His footwork and fakes are advanced for his age. Makes the game easier for his teammates. You can tell he studies the game as he’s always under control. Currently is one of the best point guards in his class.
6’5” PF Obi Nwobi – Atlanta Xpress UAA
Obi is a strong, physical big who isn’t afraid to mix it up. He plays hard, rebounds in traffic, and does the dirty work. He moves well for his size and finishes around the rim. Willing screener and smart cutter. Not flashy, but effective and valuable in every lineup.
6’4” SG Corban Reed – Atlanta Xpress UAA
Corban is a scorer with size who knows how to get to his spots. He’s comfortable operating out of the mid-post or stepping out to hit jumpers. Has solid footwork and a good feel for how to attack defenders. Defensively, his length helps him cover ground quickly. A tough matchup when he’s in rhythm.
6’3” SG Austin Leonard – Jet Academy EYBL
Austin has a smooth scoring game and good elevation on his jumper. He plays under control and doesn’t force much. He’s got length, timing, and a knack for getting clean looks. Handles the ball well enough to create for others, too. Feels the game and doesn’t get rattled. Has the makings of a scholarship level prospect at an early age.
5’11” PG Brandon LaFell Jr – Jet Academy EYBL
Brandon is a quick, attacking guard who plays with purpose. He sees the floor and gets teammates involved early, but is at his best attacking the paint. Pushes the pace in transition and keeps defenses honest. Can burn the nets up as a shooter, but the burst and vision are always there. Plays with leadership and supreme confidence.
